Hello! I’m Shannee Green…also known as Greenwoman.
No. That is not my legal name, though Shannee (shaw-knee or shaw-nay)is a derivative of my middle name. I find that having a pseudonym is a smart option when dealing with the internet.
The boring stuff is that I’m 43 as of August 2007, when this was written. I have three children and a wonderful cat named Kola. At the moment, I’m officially unattached, though there are good friendships in my life which include some lovely intimacy. I write poetry, hope my son will someday let me write songs with him, and love gentle hikes, belly and ecstatic dance, singing, beadwork and ceremony. I spend alot of time with friends, most of whom are far more like my family than my family. In fact, I don’t spend Thanksgiving with blood relatives, I spend it with my family. *smiles*
I believe in green living and so do most of my friends. That sorta makes me think the whole idea of electric cars, biodiesel, and reducing my carbon footprint is simply a part of normal lifestyle.
I’m polyamorous. That is to say, my chosen romantic life style is to share deep love with more than one partner. At the moment, I am deeply interested in a partnership with a strong, charismatic submissive man…and out of that partnership, I hope to find a tantric partnership.
Here’s some getting to know me posts if you care to read:
Change; A Bucket List; The C Word; Sex on the Brain; A Surprise; Husband; All Roads Lead To Trust; Missed Moments; Q&A Submissive Style; Santana and Hooker Mood; Snuggling; How Do You Know When You Fall In Love?; Polyamory?; Tantra: Viewpoint; Why Kink?; Fasting;
Now Before I continue on with babbling about me, I wanted to chatter about Ceeci. She’s a really sweet lady who has done some guest blogging here. Thank you Ceeci! She’s written some informative and hilarious posts here and I hope she’ll keep adding to the list you’ll find right here. Just to catch you up on my sister author, Ceeci is an artist in many ways. She’s an extraordinary photographer, she’s a not only a wizard with code, but she’s an absolute artist with templates for blogs! She’s a bead artist and taught techniques for beadwork for many years. She’s written for years now, though for a long while, she’s been silent, preferring to blog privately for family and friends. Recently, I’m proud to say that she’s written here on Green Rootsdown and even started a blog with some of our fellow spanko bloggers to come up with a blog that’s great fun to read:
As I know about it, I’ll link you to more of Ceeci’s creative and wonderful writing. *smiles*
And so…back to babbling about moi…
I’ve been publishing in blog format since April 2006, when I began my first weblog, which I named Rootsdown. The inspiration for the name of my blog was/is that I love the archetypal symbolism of the Tree of Life. Greenwoman has just seemed the natural extension of that and has been my online profile id for about a year now. I outgrew the venue of the first Rootsdown within about six months and began Honestly Speaking, my second incarnation of Rootsdown on blogger in January 2007. In September 2007, Honestly Speaking became an archive and is no longer updated. This third incarnation Green Rootsdown illustrates some changes in my writing that feel really good to me. Its generally more succinct and focused.
You’ll find that I have other blogs and those are linked in the blogroll.
I am very curious about consciousness, about relationships, personal empowerment, about ecstatic experiences, about trance and spiritual experience/awakening. Besides being arousing to me, D/s, BDSM and Tantra are milieu for exploring all these aspects of the deepening me. To get a truly full picture of how I think as a spiritual/empowered/sexual person, you’d need to read all of my blogs vigilantly.
If you want to learn more about Tantra, please take a look at the static page linked at the top of this page or at the category list on the side bar here. You’ll also see some stuff on Little Seeds, where you’ll find a Tantra category with some more meditative focused topics.
I am very generous with link love in my posts and I have a Google Reader shared page which is linked in the sidebar, listing those items that I particularly delighted in called Today’s Favorite Reads. You can pick up an rss feed to that if you like. Just click the sidebar title link.
Welcome to Green Rootsdown!
