Gratefulness: The Heart of Prayer

Yes…A friend of mine was teaching me about that word over the winter…about how it allows the flow of all good things in life to happen unimpeded. His form for this idea is “Yes…and…” He teaches that this allows you to add information without objecting and stopping the flow. Information and flow combined gives rise to conversation and understanding…and so a deepening of love and trust.

Belonging…a word that every heart craves the experience of.

I came back from my summer ceremony feeling ready.

I wanted to step into the flow of adventure and responsibility and happiness in my life and I have been doing so. Its been tough at times. I’ve felt challenged sometimes to stay present with people when I feel in pain or afraid about something…but I have kept feeling the love flowing in me, through me, to me…I trusted it. That loving flow I mean. In years past, I just couldn’t. I just didn’t really trust it. I am not sure why I can now. I see it as a miracle really, because love has almost always been conditional when its come to any of my relationships in my life…But I’ve never given up. I’ve always kept on trying to find a flow of yes without any conditions….

I found it.

And yanno what?

It wasn’t on the outside of me.

It was on the inside.

And I’ve been able to stay in yes.
